Richard
Kipp, President
As President of Kipp & Company Administrators, Ltd., Richard Kipp is responsible
for long-term strategic planning, management of operations,
administration, marketing, productive development, and quality
assurance. He has a diverse background in corporate planning,
analysis, cost containment methods, and property casualty insurance.
He is a past member of the Safeco Life President's Advisory
Board and the Reliance Pinnacle President's Club. His 34 years
of experience provides Kipp & Company Administrators, Ltd. a valuable perspective
as we continue to grow and diversify.
Mary Sandstrom, Vice President
Mary Sandstrom is responsible for the management of claims
operations, including Section 125 medical and dependent care
claims. New client orientation, product and contract research,
quality assurance, and assisting with the renewal process
are also areas or her responsibility. Her daily involvement
allows her to more effectively deal with employee/client
communications and specific health care delivery issues.
Prior to her employment with Kipp & Company Administrators, Ltd., Mary started
her claims career at Prudential Insurance Company in 1979.
She also gained experience working for Sedgwick James and
Standard Insurance Company.
Lisa
Klassen, Account Manager, Privacy Officer
Lisa’s primary
responsibility is for client relations and customer service. Lisa
comes to Kipp & Company
Administrators with more than 12 years’ service as an
account manager first for an independent benefit broker specializing
in self-funded arrangements, and later a third-party administrator. Lisa
earned her Oregon insurance license in 1996. She is a
member of the Oregon Association of Health Underwriters and
served several times as education chair for the Pacific Northwest
Employee Benefit Conference. Lisa has a special interest
in ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA compliance and enthusiastically
assists clients, participants, and brokers with their needs.
Missy Leslie, Implementation Specialist
As
Implementation Specialist, Missy Leslie is responsible for
the system implementation of all new Single Source/Consolidated
Billing groups. Her knowledge and expertise of our
systems is a great asset to Kipp & Company Administrators, Ltd. Missy works directly with our clients to develop
the online enrollment and billing platform. Missy also
works directly with each carrier to set up and maintain electronic
data interchange (EDI) connections for sending electronic
eligibility. Missy’s prior service as an Executive
Assistant to Mary Sandstrom, Vice President, gives her the
experience necessary to understand our clients’ needs.
Cecilia
(Cece) Tyacke, Client Accounting Manager
Cece Tyacke is responsible for the client accounting
department. This department is responsible for the printing
and distribution of claim and administration checks and
preparing monthly financial reports. Her department is
also responsible for accounts receivable, 5500 reporting
and 1099s. Cece came to Kipp & Company Administrators, Ltd. with 6 years service at Tektronix Corporation
and 2 years experience at Richardson, Strang Engel Advertising
in accounting. Cece’s attention to detail and knowledge
of Government reporting is unparalleled.
Sue Corie, Quality Assurance Coordinator
Sue Corie is responsible for quality control and coordination
of audits and filing of all individual excess loss claims.
Sue’s other responsibilities include reviews of various
claims issues pertaining to pre-authorization, medical review,
case management referrals, appeals, and other medical claims
issues. She also processes some of the individual excess
loss claims, provides back-up medical reporting for our Marketing
Assistant, related to excess loss marketing, and assists
claims analysts when questions arise in the daily processing
of claims. Sue Corie’s 30+ years in the industry in
claims and auditing provide Kipp & Company Administrators, Ltd. with the expertise
and knowledge to handle the job successfully.
Clare
Stevens, Operations Manager
Clare Stevens is responsible for executing strategic plans
associated with daily claims management operations, billing
and enrollment. Clare has 9 years in the health insurance industry
and is the technical expert for both HIPAA regulations and
industry coding procedures. In addition to the ongoing management
of claims staff, she utilizes her industry knowledge to execute
on objectives specific to enhancing claims turn around time
and quality. Overall, her department exceeds industry performance
standards by focusing on customer satisfaction, improving operational
workflows, and ensuring compliance with changes in industry
regulations.
Mark
Usher, Systems Administrator
Mark Usher is responsible for the smooth operation of
the computers, printers, modems, and networking hardware
during their congenial interaction with the desktop applications
required in each department. Mark also researches and
purchases new equipment and instructs various users on
the optimal utilization of their tools. His years as
a self-employed consultant helping independent businesses
setup and maintain computer operations gives Mark the
insight of the problems and opportunities facing a multifaceted
operation such as Kipp & Company.
Dan Barrett, Senior Programmer/Analyst
Dan Barrett is responsible for analysis, design, coding, testing
and release of systems involving related applications on
a Pick platform. He has developed pension calculation and
check writing systems. Dan has 18 years experience in Information
Systems. In his last year of college, Dan performed computer
operations for Bunker Ramo. After receiving his BSCS, his
software experience has been in the Military, point-of-sale,
banking and auto industries.
Rich
Swanson, Senior Programmer/Analyst
Rich Swanson does design analysis and programming of
new reports, data entry and inquiry screens. He also
does troubleshooting of existing applications and fixes
problems as needed. Rich has a BS in mathematics. After
five years in the Air Force, he began computer programming
and system analysis and design in 1976. With experience
in both software houses and end user environments, he
has over 18 years’ experience
in the PICK environment.
Joe Paradiso, Senior Programmer/Analyst
Joe Paradiso is responsible for development and maintenance
of electronic data sharing protocols, with particular attention
to HIPAA-compliant claims and eligibility file formats. Joe
comes to Kipp from a global leader in data management where
he developed and administered new systems for claim repricing
and health plan information administration. Joe earned his
Master of Sciences in Computer Sciences from Drexel in Philadelphia.
His work experience has encompassed all functions of information
technology delivery from programmer to President of an IT
firm (Computer Associates). His innovative solutions to complex
problems have won him recognition by industry leaders. Kipp
is delighted to have Joe’s expert contributions.
Kerri Patterson,Section
125 Coordinator
Kerri is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Section
125 Department as well as client and employee communication in
the form of open enrollment meetings and customer service. She
is also responsible for keeping up-to-date with current IRS guidelines
and regulations regarding FSA, HSA and HRA plans. Kerri was a
student at PSU working on a graduate degree before joining Kipp & Company Administrators, Ltd.
in 2002.
